Mission:

to inform, network and mobilise people to serve and meet the needs of the local community

Vision:

to see life celebrated and local communities transformed

Distinctives:

Life as the Moral Imperative – the most fundamental human right is the right to life
Cultural Accessibility – communicating in a way that is accessible to the generation we are speaking to
Engaging Communication – being up-to-date with what forms of communication work for informing different demographics of people
Human Experience as Evidence – we will use the stories and observations of human experience to act as the evidence for our theories on why our particular slant on an issue is best for life
Respect – we value the respect of cultures, of belief systems and of people, we are not forcing beliefs on people, but rather seeking to inform people of another way of thinking, we accept that many people won’t accept our position, but hope that we can be respectful and that that respect would be reciprocated

Strategy:

Research –
using research of experts on life issues as the evidence
Inform – informing young people about issues pertaining to life
Inspire – painting an alternate vision of a LetLive life
Network – with all people who want to see the local community made better
Mobilise - people to serve in meaningful and sustainable ways in their community

Philosophy of Operation:

LETLIVE is a not for profit organisation that seeks to get the word out there about a different way to live – a life that celebrates, defends and prioritises life above all else. It is a life that thinks about the morality of our choices, the consequences of our actions, and the resultant emotional, physical, psychological and spiritual health of our lifestyles. Our message is one seldom heard in the dominant media and education institutions of our day, but it is one that stands to scrutiny and does not need religious or faith backing to legitimise its claims – the evidence and logic is plain and convincing without it.

Whilst the people involved in LetLive are Christian, the organisation itself is not out to convert people to Christianity. The connection is a fluid one, where, whilst we believe the perspectives we present match consistently with the Christian worldview, our fundamental aim is to see young people living healthy lives. What they do with the connection to Jesus is up to them. In Christian schools we can make the connection very clear, in a more public setting we can tone down the explicit connection.

In many ways our world is melting down around us. Words like: morality, sexuality, climate change, financial crisis, consumerism, war, terrorism, strike a chord with us all and in such a world one must worry for our young people who are struggling to navigate a healthy pathway through all the chaos. It is our hope that young people will catch the vision of a ‘letlive’ life and see that there is an exciting and engaging way to live which is best for them, best for their communities, and best for our country’s future generations.

Methodology:

The methodology of letlive is to use the stories and research of people who have experienced or observed how humans live to inform young people of the letlive lifestyle, so that they can make the best, most healthy and informed choices possible.

These healthy and informed choices should benefit the individual, their family, their peers, their local communities, their city, their country and other countries (a hierarchical priority of proximity – what is in your backyard requires our first and most-focussed attention).

These stories and research will be presented in persuasive ways using new media, story, humour and music to communicate. Letlive is not a political lobby group, but rather seeks to get often hidden information into the hands of the people who need it most.
